She is studying for her master’s degree at the Swedish Defence University and noticed Svekon during one of our guest lectures. Now she works extra as a project engineer with us when she finds the time. Meet Josefine Thunström!
Tell us about your background!
I studied civil engineering in Helsingborg, at Lund University of Technology. Now I’m finishing my master’s at the Swedish Defence University, the program in Innovation, Defence and Security, and I will graduate in the summer of 2023.
What are you looking forward to the most??
I look forward to seeing and experiencing what this industry is like! Since I’m still in school, I have no work experience in this field. It will be exciting to experience what it’s like to work with the things I’m studying.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I’m studying, of course! Other than that, I like to exercise and be outside. I live near a nice recreation area around Rösjön, so I’m usually out walking there. I also travel home to Falun sometimes, where my family lives, or down to my boyfriend in Skåne. So I am well acquainted with SJ and the Swedish railway.
Do you have a dream project?
Yes, to build my own house sometime in the future. To both design and project manage it myself to the greatest extent possible. That would be a lot of fun!
