Excidor is a Swedish manufacturer of control systems and products for mobile machines. Together we transitioned to a new generation of software development tools in their displays.

CONTROL SYTEMS FOR MOBILE MACHINES

Excidor has several different types of control systems for a range of different types of mobile machines, which allows the operator to maneuver its instruments in a easy way. It can be anything from a road machine with sweeping rollers and folding plow to an excavator with a precision-controlled bucket.

DISPLAY IN DRIVER’S CAB

Common for several of the control systems is the touchscreen display installed in the driver’s cab, which with a few simple presses adjusts settings for, or replaces the tool being used. Since the needs look different depending on the machine type and manufacturer, this also needs to be able to be adapted in a simple way.

FOCUS ON SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Svekon’s work has included software development for the display for the control systems ExciControl TRC and MH – two systems that both communicate through a CanBus to control the tools on their machines. The different models control different tools and therefore have different needs, which has meant that the software has been rewritten for each system, the protocols have been adapted and different images have been loaded.
