Parliament Sets the Direction – Svekon Delivers: New Investment Strengthens Swedish Supply Capability

Stockholm, 24 oktober 2025. Following the Swedish Parliament’s approval earlier this week of the Government’s Defence Industry Strategy, Svekon announces a major new investment that contributes to a stronger and more self-reliant Swedish defence industry.

Through a new 5,400 sqm production facility, Svekon will bring the entire production chain together under one roof — from development and integration to manufacturing and final assembly. The investment significantly increases the company’s capacity and supports Sweden’s supply capability for critical defence materiel.

The new production facility complements Svekon’s existing operations, including the company’s Development & Test Center in Borlänge and Innovation & Development Center in Solna (headquarters).

”We see it as our responsibility to contribute to a strong and independent Swedish defence industry. By bringing development and production together in Sweden, we can secure competence, technology, and industrial capacity within the country’s borders.”

Martin Frisk, Vice VD, Svekon

New Production Facility Strengthens Delivery Capability

The investment will:

  • Enable faster deliveries and improved security of supply
  • Bring multiple disciplines together in one location to increase efficiency and collaboration
  • Strengthen Svekon’s long-term role as a full-scope supplier to the Swedish Armed Forces and the Swedish defence industry

The initiative forms part of the company’s broader efforts to contribute to a sustainable, competitive, and independent Swedish defence industry — a cornerstone of Sweden’s national security and preparedness.
