Svensk Konstruktionstjänst AB signs a long-term agreement with FMV for the development and delivery of the Mindre Snabbgående Motorbåt typ 200 (MSMB 200).
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has awarded Svensk Konstruktionstjänst AB, Svekon, the contract to develop and produce the new workboat Mindre Snabbgående Motorbåt typ 200 (MSMB 200) for the Swedish Armed Forces. The agreement includes the development of a prototype boat over the next two years, with the possibility of serial production of up to 100 boats over a seven-year period. The total contract duration, including options, extends over nine years, with an additional six years of support for spare parts and maintenance.
Technical Specifications and Requirements
The MSMB 200 will be constructed in aluminium, measure 10 meters in length, and be equipped with a powerful inboard engine. The boat will have the capacity to transport two crew members and eight passengers with gear, making it a versatile and efficient tool for the Swedish Armed Forces’ maritime operations.
A Strong Team
The project is led by a team from Svekon, in collaboration with Alukin Boats and Nimbus Group, who collectively bring extensive experience in boat development and defence projects. Together, the team ensures that the boats will meet the Swedish Armed Forces’ high standards for performance, durability, and functionality.
We are proud of the trust FMV has placed in us and look forward to contributing to the continued development of the Swedish Armed Forces’ maritime mobility and operational capability.
