Svekon Awarded Framework Agreement by FMV for Packrafts to the Swedish Armed Forces

Svekon has been awarded a framework agreement by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the supply of packrafts to the Swedish Armed Forces. The agreement covers three new types of packrafts that will replace older kayaks and smaller inflatable boats. The solution includes packrafts in different executions for one or two users, including associated equipment.

A packraft is a lightweight, compact, and durable inflatable boat that can be carried in a user’s backpack and quickly prepared for use. It is particularly well suited for crossing lakes, rivers, and other water obstacles where traditional boats are difficult to transport or operate.

“Packrafts are a simple yet highly effective tool for increasing mobility and endurance in terrain where water presents a natural obstacle. Their combination of low weight, compact pack size, and excellent mobility makes the system particularly valuable when flexibility and a minimal logistical footprint are critical. Together with Fjord Defence Marine, we are proud to contribute to strengthening operational capability.”

Svekon has been tasked by FMV with delivering the new packraft systems. The framework agreement covers up to 3,000 packrafts and is initially valid for three years, with options for extension by an additional two plus two years, resulting in a maximum contract duration of seven years.

The framework agreement also includes options for accessories, consumables, and spare parts.
